Back in 2008, producer, musician, and software designer Leigh Marble released Red Tornado, a fresh and unique approach to the way folk pop was presented. If you couldn’t differentiate the folk from the rest, then you really will be confused with Twister.

When Leigh Marble was doing some work remixing other people’s work like Necessary Intergalactic Cooperation, Play The Coyote, Swallows, he began looking inward and thoughts about having his own music remixed.

Twister shows us that Leigh Marble’s forte is the studio with the itch to set some dynamite to his own songs. Teledubgnosis take on “Lucky Bastards” is the most popular, sounding like a cross between Throbbing Gristle covering something from the Deep South but with a Downtempo twist. The song gets a dose of courage and becomes an explosive power play that makes you want to pump your arm in unison while contemplating what the hell is really going on here.

Marble presents himself here with his studio name Dr. Marble and squeezed out a few of his own tunes by putting something like “On Your Way” through the ringer and transforming it to sound like it belongs on Meat Beat Manifesto’s Other Sounds + Voices.

This is not your typical remix album as many of the songs are eclectic in their re-workings and often times border an industrialized approach. But if you know what you are getting yourself into, it’s not a bad listen.
