The Best-Of Lists Of 2010

It’s hard to believe we are on the heels of 2011 with just weeks left. So many great things happened this year from My Old Kentucky Blog’s Local Music Git Down to the Broad Ripple Music Fest. We saw the birth of the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s 100 Acres and the death of a favorite hangout Northside News Cafe. An old pub (Broad Ripple Brew Pub) celebrated 20 years while the rookie Sun King Brewery saw a rise in popularity.

People For Urban Progress and Indy Connect made people aware while artists like Nathan Monk and photographers like Greg “The Mayor” Andrews made awareness a part of their surroundings and the city a part of their art.

We also saw great new releases from amazing Indiana talent like We Are Hex, Grey Granite, Jascha, The Last Domino, Tonos Triad, Margot And the Nuclear So And Sos, Junker, Andy D. and more. On practically any given night, many clubs and bars played host to some band or some DJ spinning tunes just the way they liked it. This is just a small sample to the greatness that is 2010. There was not a dull moment this year, and I’m sure 2011 will be even more exciting for this city.

As the year winds down to a close, ZapTown staff concludes with their best-of lists of 2010, looking at both the national and local scene. Keep checking this page as we will add more Best-Of Lists throughout the month.
