Two-Bit Terribles

The Two-Bit Terribles are back! For this band, expect a direct and impacting return to the scene. After a four-year hiatus, the Indianapolis punk darlings bring back the power and intensely creative songs. What a better re-inauguration than Punk Rock Night. This Saturday (August 13) the band is participating in Girls Rock Night to help benefit Girls Rock Camp.

The band will be joined with Misunderstood, Elky Summers and Mr. Clit & The Pink Cigarettes.

Between rehearsals, the band took some time to share enthusiasm about their return and where they will go from here.

The band has not played a show in four years, why the break? What has the band members been doing during this down time?

We had to put the band on hiatus while our singer Kate left for the peace corps, she was in Morocco for two years then moved back to New York, we actually played our last show about a week before she left the country. While she’s been gone Rich and Kyle have been in the band Gay Black Republican. Kate’s back in Indiana for school now so the time is right for a Two-Bit Terrible return!

Why return to the stage now? What does this PRN show mean for the band?

Now is good timing, we’ve had a chance to get back together, select a song list, rehearse our brains out and make our stage show even better than before! We’ve been playing Punk Rock Night for years now- it was one of our first venues and our last show four years ago, so it just felt right to make it our first venue now that we’re back.

What does an organization like Girls Rock Camp mean to the band and with this show how are you helping the organization? Why should we come out to this show?

Performing rock music can be very empowering, we hope that this show can help inspire and provide funds for girls to learn to rock; giving them a creative outlet and the confidence they can use in every aspect of their lives.  Coming to this show will help benefit Girls Rock Camp directly as a portion of the cover goes to that cause. So come out for the music and support the cause, – it’s going to be fun, we’ll be as crazy as ever.

Any surprises this Saturday? What can we expect from the group?

We surprised ourselves already in rehearsal – surprised how tight we can sound after not being together for four years, the magic is back and the “Terrible” is back and it will show on stage this Saturday.

Beyond this event, what is the band up to and how does it feel to be playing together again? Are there new songs in the works?

New songs are already in the works, just ideas and a few riffs at this point – we have the need to create and pick up where we left off. We’re looking forward to collaborating again and are sure there will be a new album at some point.

After this show, what does the band have planned? Does this mean more frequent shows in the future? A new album?

After the show we’re going to forge ahead with writing music and booking more shows. Anything is possible and it all starts this Saturday.
