The whiskey-induced indie rock band jascha. kicked off their Fall 2010 tour on August 28 with a show at Radio Radio. The show was the release of their 7 inch vinyl EP titled “At The Mouth Of The Well Of The Twisted Serpent/Indianapolis: The Paris Of The Midwest,” released by Standard Recording Company. The band Kadawatha opened up the Honda Civic Tour at The Lawn at White River State Park on Thursday night. Kadawatha is from Sweden and started as a solo project by the 23 year old Sri Lankan lead singer, Daniel Kadawatha.

Pitchfork Music Festival is a three-day event showcasing over 40 of independent music’s best bands and artists on three stages. I attended the sold-out Sunday shows on July 18 and was more than impressed by the amazing acts. Here is a photo recap of the day.

Saturday morning was the second annual Mayor’s bike ride, celebrating the newest bike lanes on Allisonville Road. The ride started at Allisonville Elementary School on 79th and Allisonville and had two different routes: a 4-mile ride for families and a longer 12-mile ride.
