Greg Harwood is no stranger to the short film circuit. Expelling countless soundtracks to the genre, as well as documentary and now a growing stack of credits to feature films, his work as an independent composer continually becomes more popular in the UK and less a mere hobby.
There is a degree of poetic justice that comes from the song “Please Send Love.” It’s a song that defines a post-modern sexual revolution, like art house sterility in a dirty mid-town environment.
Listening to Knife Play is like walking into a room and staring down a triple homicide. You stand there, mouth agape, eyes wide as does, and the shock of what you are experiencing will soon enough sink in.
To most, it comes as a surprise that xbxrx would continue their noise parade, maybe hoping that they would not have to sit through another album of abusive chords and the raping of shredded guitar strings. But did they think that Gop Ist Minee was the punch line to the joke, and that xbxrx would become a traditional band with coherency?
