Dr. Sketchy and Five Year Mission

I attended the Annual Comics Rocks art and music showcase, at Local’s Only, July 9. The event was a cool event with local pop cultural icons. The show featured Creme de les Femmes, Five Year Mission, God Made Robots, and more.

A Day at Circle City In Pride 2011

We gathered three of our photographers to capture the day at Circle City In Pride 2011. Between Benjamin Swisher capturing the morning’s now traditional Cadillac Barbie Pride Parade, Jedediah Johnson showcasing the people and events throughout the afternoon and Kim Duncan reeling in the day’s drag queen grand finale, we wanted to provide a complete picture of what Circle City In Pride is all about. Take a look.

The Whigs returned with a tense show of rock and roll fury. Joining them were Marvich (ex-Bloomington rockers Jim Fix frontman Jim Rawlins is the ringleader here) and Company Of Thieves who will return to Indianapolis for the 2011 Indianapolis Music and Arts Festival, June 11.

We Are Hex – Luna Music In Store Performance

We Are Hex
Luna Music Midtown
March 25, 2011

To celebrate the release of their 7 inch on Third Man Records, the band spent a Friday evening at Luna. Introduced by a little fan adorning a We Are Hex T-shirt, the band wasted no time. It was loud…real loud. CDs toppled from the vibrations and the band performed their songs the best way they knew…in a frenzy and artfully expressed.

Sunday Afternoon at the Mall

Antique shopping is a timeless past time for many. Midland Arts And Antique Mall is located in an old warehouse deep in the city. The multi-floor facility feels like a maze. Every corner you turn, you encounter endless possibilities. This is no ordinary antique mall. This is a world of the cute and kitschy, the familiar and the unique, the cool and the weird.
