Honey has been a renowned DJ the world over for some time. It's about time she is being recognized at home. She's truly bridges the gap between today's club land and that of an era that is long gone.

I was never much of a Namor fan growing up, but he's become one of my very favorite characters in the last few years. Marvel has done a great job of developing him into a complex character. His constant demand for respect is typically hilarious. I think it might have been Matt Fraction who pointed out that "Imperious Rex" is more or less Atlantean for "F**k you!!"

I'm a self-professed Marvel Mutant, but some of those old Adventure Comics are still a part of my collection, particularly the issues with the Legion of Super Heroes. Drilling down even further, the ones that Dave Cockrum illustrated are my favorites, although the Curt Swan issues sure have an innocent charm to them. But they sure haven't aged as well in quality or value as those old issues of FF! We could probably all pay off our mortgages with bagged copies of the first 10 issues of FF!

When I was young, my granny took me to the drugstore in the Devington shopping center for my regular alotment of comics. I had this issue in my hands. No doubt much to Lee and Kirby's chagrin, I remembered Marvel's former identity as a purveyor of giant monster comics, which I'd tired of by then, so I put it back and probably bought an issue of Adventure Comics. I really liked Superboy at the time...If Doc Doom's time machine really existed, I might step through and say, wait kid, buy the Fantastic Four! Wait, talk Maw Maw into buying EVERY COPY! And bag them up when you get home, OK?

Oh well...great issue. I believe they sort of recycled the comic plot in the first episode of the first Fantastic Four cartoon series.

Heehee. The idea for this issue might have started out, hey, wouldn't it be cool to have the FF broke and having to hitchihike? And the fish powers (I forgot about those!) made Namor too similar to the much inferior Aquaman. Casting him in the direction of a superstrong hero was a good move, actually.

I wish! No, I'm working from a CD ROM I picked up a few years back that contains every issue of FF and Silver Surfer in PDF form. The FF issues run up to the Civil War event, and I have every issue from that point on. I've read all of the Lee/Kirby issues via the Essential collection, and have the entire Byrne run, but can't wait to delve into the between points.

It was a great show. Besides Frontalot, I especially enjoyed Stephen Bryden. He did a great job of bringing the crowd into his show.
