Civil Twilight and Kids in the Way at The Vollrath on October 5
The Soft Pack returned to Indianapolis (The Vollrath Tavern) over the weekend and put on an awesome show. This band had me dancing for their entire set – can’t stop, won’t stop!
Torrential rain and phenomenal wind prove time and time again to serve as no deterrent for the live music enthusiasts of Indianapolis. The Melody Inn, unsuspectingly thriving just north of the 38th and Illinois intersection, was their destination on this stormy August Wednesday. The Cincinnati talent known as Losanti was the affair that persuaded them to leave the comfort and protection of their home and come out to support original touring bands.
The Violent Femmes are one of those groups who have that distinct style and should never stray from it. And don’t get me wrong, on some of their historic releases, they have some downright stinkers, but Rock!!!!! is just a failure.
